About the Film
Our Why
In 2018, our world was irrevocably changed when my wife's father was diagnosed with dementia. Despite having spent 15 years in the insurance and financial sectors, we were blindsided by the enormity of the long-term care crisis that unfolded before us. It was a wake-up call that led us to pivot our professional lives entirely. Our documentary, Care-Tastrophe: The Looming Long-Term Care Epidemic, is born out of personal anguish, professional expertise, and an urgent call to action. We aim to shed light on a looming catastrophe that will touch nearly every family in some way, yet remains largely misunderstood by the public. This isn't just a film; it's a mission to bring awareness and instigate change in how we approach long-term care in our society. Because if a family like ours, armed with years of industry knowledge, could be so unprepared, it's a stark warning that we are all vulnerable. It's time to pull back the curtain on a crisis that we can no longer afford to ignore.
